You can complete the Shulchan Aruch study program at your own pace and schedule. Our Rabbanim are available to answer any question you may have. Our curriculum is suitable for those willing to obtain a Semicha as for those who are just being introduced to Torah study. Those who want to apply for the Semicha Program or Rabbinic Ordination must meet the following criteria: The applicant must have a written recommendation by a renowned Orthodox rabbi. According to tradition, Semicha can only be given to Jewish males who are Torah observant. Limudei Halacha, through its Vaad HaRabbanim insists that this standard is met. In addition, Talmidim who choose to take part of the Semicha program must be G-d fearing and responsible. It is up to our discretion to block access, complete the course or revoke the same Semicha if any participant does not adhere himself to all the Torah precepts and the teachings of our sages, maintaining a high level of personal integrity and moral, required from anyone who has attained this designation.
Issur V'heter Semicha
1. The program lasts 19 months. 2. The program comprises thetopics: Melicha, Basar V’chalav, Ta’aruvot, Tevilat Kelim and Ma’achalei Akum. 3. The program is 100% in English.In any case, together with the program in English, there is also an option of sending it in Hebrew. 4. Each topic is sent by e-mail, in English, in PDF format. These shiurim include the Shulchan Aruch simanim that must be studied, plus the involved mareh makomot. 5. Each siman from the Shulchan Aruch is evaluated with partial tests. 6. Once the course has been concluded, those who have passed the partial tests, may be submitted to a final test before the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Dan Channen. This test can be taken in Spanish, English or Hebrew. This test can be taken in Israel once the student has successfully completed the course. All travel and accommodation expenses are paid by the interested party.

LEARNING METHODOLOGY
How does I twork? What is the curriculum?
The student will receive a weekly digital lesson in English and questions about the material. All the laws that are required to be studied by the student are within the English lesson. Nevertheless, it is also required from the student to study the Hebrew text in the Shulchan Aruch. Thepurpose of this isthat students cansee the lawsin the original Hebrew and gain Shulchan Aruch reading skills. Forthis, the Machon Edition is recommended.
When are the tests taken?
1. Partial tests: For foreigner students, the test will be given through Skype. For those students that live in Israel, the test will be given in person, in the Ramat Beit Shemesh area. 2. Final tests: All students will take the final test in the city of Beit Shemesh, in Ramat Beit Shemesh. This test will be given by Rav Channen.

What is the curriculum?
In order to obtain the Semicha certification in Issur V’heter, our program requires that the student studies five halachic topics. Our rabbinic personnel is constantly working on delivering more halachic learning topics.As these topics are ready, they will be published as part of the topics that can be learned for Semicha. Is there an available chavruta for me? The program rabbinical personnel encourage text learning with a chavruta and will make the effort to create chavrutas o study groups. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee a chavruta since it depends on external factors.
How is the learning material?
The learning material is sent via PDF and, with an additional cost, will soon be available in book format. Our program intends to offer Halacha knowledge to English speaking students from all origins. For this, the shiurim or books included in English are clearly written and have all the necessary material for real learning and preparation for the test at the Rabanut. This way, even someone who is not capable of learning in Hebrew but can do it in English will be able of receiving the certification. Do I have to learn the original text in Hebrew from the Shulchan Aruch text to obtain the certification? The student must study the Hebrew text from the Shulchan Aruch in order to acquire the necessary skills to take the test at the Israel Rabbinate. The details of the necessary materials that must be learned in Hebrew will be discussed upon the background basis and the student level.
